Ballooning is what Cappadocia is famous for, and the reason is simple: nowhere else do you drift this close to the rock. The baskets lift before dawn, catch the first light on the tuff cones, and float over the valleys while a hundred other envelopes rise around you.
We collect you from your hotel in the dark, drive to the launch field chosen that morning for the wind, and you watch the envelope inflate before boarding. The flight runs about an hour. On landing there is the traditional champagne toast and a flight certificate, then the minibus back to your hotel — usually in time for breakfast.
